Have been tied up at a workshop on the review of the Health Star Ratings (HSR) and what to do with anomalies. Foods that sit outside the normal range of salt sugar and saturated fat. What it showed me is how complex foods are from the gooey high-fat soft cheeses to the salty snack foods like chips that shoppers buy for their taste – not the number of Stars they carry! Its interesting isnt it? The most questioned foods were breakfast cereals ready-to-eat foods (Im guessing frozen dinners) muesli bars and flavoured yoghurts. Looks like theyre sugar and salt problems. Dont know if the HSR can provide all the answers ….
